My dots aer located on the intricate frame!  I chose a frame I had saved and dotted it with my white Sakura pen.  A bit of bling and a lot of mixed dps and Brigid is ready to go!  I just didn't feel this Zentangle needed much color, so I kept her in grey/black/white/and a bit of sunset color around her!

FALL IS COMING IN THE MIDWEST!

 OUTLAWZ GREETINGS CHALLENGE
Sponsor: Oak Pond and Limited Runs
Theme: Fall is coming, leaves, trees

I'm not sure if I'm truly waiting for fall anymore - the days/nites have all become cooler.  We've put windshields on our bikes to make our biking more comfortable in the colder weather, but it means we have to pedal a bit harder because of wind drag.  Winter is beautiful - but I would really REALLY like to hang on to a late summer and a looooooooong WARM FALL!  Is that possible?

Come on over to OUTLAWZ GREETINGS and join us in this week's challenge - anything to do with fall including leaves, trees, you name it!  I took on this challenge with various cards for Halloween.  Having 4 great grandchildren to surprise with cards, I have enough incentive.

Enjoy your fall!!
Vampire Candy corn is a freebie right now at LIMITED RUNS!
Using a few leaves and a pumpkin, what can be more fallish!

CRUMP, CRUMP!!

It's the mid month of September, fall is finally entering Wisconsin; however I do wish it would wait longer.  We didn't get enough summer this year!  My husband took his hovercraft out yesterday to the Mississippi backwaters and brought back some lily pads for our frog pond!  Yes, we do have a frog pond or as it started out, it was a RESERVOIR for storage of excess rain water for our gardens.  However frogs took over and each morning we can see so many different frogs enjoying the huge area and jumping from one lily pad to the water and onto another lily pad.  Ahhhhhh, life is good!

I want to say THANK YOU here to Lisa Decosse for asking me to be her GDT on her PATH OF POSITIVITY site for the month of September.  Her site is one of the most inspirational sites on the net!!!   Lisa also has her own blog at DECOSSE'S DYNAMITE DOODLES.  Please take a moment and visit Lisa and drop a comment that Linda sent you!

And thank you Lisa - this is for you!!!!

HALLIE HIPPO VISITS SCRAPBOOK PLACE

I love hippos!  Just look at the fun face Hallie is sporting today!  Did you know that a hippo is one of the most vicious animals.  But not Hallie - she's my wisher of good vibes for the day to you.  And she's a surprise for a special gal!!!

Come over to YOUR SCRAPBOOK PLACE BLOG and get in on a very basic challenge.  You'll notice on my card I have no embellishments, embossing, glitter - NOTHING - just work with the bare card and your stamps and colors.  Here's the rules:

TOUGH BOOK?

SQUIGGLEFLY Challenge
RRR-SFC3714-Just Bling or Emboss
No special requirements, Rhonda's group makes it easy for you at SQUIGGLEFLY BLOGSPOT CHALLENGE.  You can use bling or you can emboss something on your cards-or both!!!  I've done both - a bit of bling and embossing around the card.  It's actually a page behind the cut out - with TONGUE TIED by James Horvath showing his disdain for Physics!  Alas, I do remember Physics too; and Chemistry and Advanced Algebra!  I enjoyed all math - taking courses in the summer to fulfill my need for MORE!

Well enjoy what is left of your summer - the children in school need all your help when they return home in the evenings.  But in my estimation it would be a wonderful time to be in school with computers and notepads and all!  We never even had calculators!!!  LOL!

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!

September 8th - challenge at OUTLAWZ GREETINGS
Sponsor: Fitztown

Theme: Happy Days Are Here Again: (Your Sentiment must include the word Happy)

 CAT 2 - FITZTOWN Image

I purposely chose this cat image from FITZTOWN - I am such a grand cat lover that one day my veterinary said that when died she wanted to be reincarnated as a cat that lives in my house.  Well my husband makes them climbing posts and trees and walkways.  My very special ragdoll kitty, TinkerBelle, passed away last October and she could actually hang like a monkey upside down from the carpeted walkways.  My 2 remaining senior cats are in great health - they appear not to have arthritis in their spines.  But just in case they'd like a little help when eating, my husband carved a base of wood for all their wet and dry food bowls.  They won't have to lean down so far to the floor.  Yes, it's a good thing TO BE HAPPY in my household!

WALKING THE PATH OF DETERMINATION

I was asked to be a Guest Design Team member of Lisa Decosse's PATH OF POSITIVITY for the month of September and feel very honored.  Here's my card created with a digi called JUST DANCE from PICKLED POTPOURRI.  Please read on!

DIGI OF DANCER from PICKLED POTPOURRI

  • One digital image from Creative Bug Digital Stamps for each person chosen as a DT Delight.

STAY THE COURSE
Determination in the end is POWER.  Never go backward.  Attempt and do it with all your might, said Charles Simmons.
I do believe we all have it within ourselves to simply “keep trying”.  I don’t believe some of us are marked to fail and some of us will succeed.  We all will and can succeed at reasonable attempts in our lifetime.  In fact, I get a bit disgusted when I hear a grandchild say “he/she can’t do it”.  Time for a bit of advice from Grandma then.

In my lifetime, I’ve had many possibilities where I could have succeeded further – the determination was there at first, but other factors got in the way, such as the cost of a vocation, a passing of a loved one who was my inspiration, or my attitude wasn’t right either.  Truth is I simply gave up and chose a different (albeit easier) path.  But in the end all were simply excuses that allowed me to choose that other path.

Take this card for instance, my dear friend Lisa invited me to be her GDT for Sept. and I think I had a small anxiety attack but I wanted to do it – I wanted to have the power to say “I DID IT!”    Even though I didn’t feel I could really do it,  a bit of determination took over and I’ve struggled thru many stop signs to get it done.  If something could go wrong with this card and article, it would and did.  At the moment, it sits on my craft desk drying – hoping/praying no one goes in there and touches it!

Am I determined in most areas of my life, INDEED!  There is another power in my life.  I do believe we all can feel it (power) within us to keep going when we get knocked down.  In my life, it involves prayer – some days a lot of it!  Miracles happen everyday – but not without the determination of the individual involved.

My advice in your life during problems – STAY THE COURSE – Determination will give you the POWER to succeed!

TAG YOU'RE IT!

Yes, TAG and you are it!  You have been tagged to participate in our 'create a tag of any kind' challenge at YOUR SCRAPBOOK PLACE!  You can create a tag for a layout, a card, a gift, you name it.

"Hello, lovely crafters!  It's time again to post a new challenge here at SBP Challenge blog. The theme is TAGS and the sky's the limit. You can create a tag, or create with tags! You can ink them, paint them, fold them, create a tag-shaped card, alter a tag, use tags on layouts, altered art, mixed media canvas...well, you get the picture!  Our guest sponsor this month is Lisa from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles," (from our SBP challenge blog).  She really REALLY does have tag kits available too!

And here's my card WITH A TAG!!!

CELEBRATE - LABOUR DAY

All the children I know are celebrating one last holiday before the intense school work begins - and that is Labour Day.  The theme for the OUTLAWZ GREETINGS CHALLENGE this week is LABOUR DAY - and I chose a fun image from THE PAPER SHELTER.

Interior
The fun part of this card is all the 3d popdotting I've done.  Some items like the girl are popped up much higher, even the glass with the straw and drink are popped, I hope you like it.  And I hope you have a lovely Labour Day!  I'm sure my grandchildren and great grandchildren are spending some time lounging!

BARNABUS - YOU ARE A STAR!

SFC 3514 - End date:  9/7/14
Challenge:  Star(s) on your artwork
Barnabus is coming to SQUIGGLEFLY SHOP on 9/6/14.  He's a darling little vampire getting ready for Halloween created for us by Sandra Caldwell!  I'll send this to one of my great grandkids along with a treat inside.

The challenge for me was making this 6 pointed star - just to be different.  Had to enlist hubby and his geometry skills!  Now I have a pattern (positive and negative) to use for ever.

Come on over to the SQUIGGLEFLY SHOP and check out all the new artwork.  There are also freebies for you to get started on your digi collection.  Stamp on!
