HH SFC2614 Sunny Days

CHALLENGE THEME:  Since summer is here add any type of embellishment that includes a sun shape on your card, this can be a die cut, a pattern on your cardstock, a button shape, an brad or eyelet

This is a new image from Lynne Stansbery

For my card base, I pulled an OUTER STAIR STEP CARD from THE PAPER CUT
which helped in making the card easily put together.  Especially after the time I spent beautifying this baby!

We have three new artists making their debut this month at SQUIGGLEFLY!  They are Tam Hess, Norma Burnell, and Angela Charles.  Each of them have their own unique style. The images will be in the store on July 5th.

So come over to Squigglefly's Blogspot and join me in this challenge!  There are many freebies in the SHOP for you to use as well as purchasing one of the wonderful June images now.  Don't forget you MUST use a SQUIGGLEFLY image to be considered for the wonderful prize!

Theme: Anything Goes
 Lisbeth and Mr. Deer
WHO doesn't love an ANYTHING GOES challenges???  To me, it's another opportunity to get another Christmas Card done.  WOO HOO for Lisbeth and Mr. Deer = just a darling digi image now available at MILK COFFEE!

I used my circular nestie to cut out the center of a very pretty 6x6 from my stash, and also cut another circular piece from a burgundy solid and then placed Lisbeth and Mr. Deer underneath and secured this sandwich layer to my actual folded card.  Around the center circle is a row of white pearl Liquid Pearl dots.  I also had a couple corner die cuts sitting in the stash and I used my CTMH ink pad to press them into and color them. Then I placed a burgundy wired ribbon below the image piece and wallah! Easy peasy!

And Sapphie sits here and watches what I do.  It will soon be one year since we adopted her and she's been a true joy!

And one of the joys of living and creating in the country - tree frogs singing on the edge of the doggy pool and I can hear him behind closed doors!

This is such an amazing challenge.
SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY is being sponsored by Fitztown
The awesome prize is 3 Digi Images
Here's the sketch!
And here's my image...with the awesome story that goes with it!
Tell me - who is falling into the water????
(update: after completing this card we learned
our son's father in law died in a very bad accident...
we sent this to the family with a sentiment inside)
Matthew 14:22-33 New International Version (NIV) Jesus Walks on the Water

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.

23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,

24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Here's the sketch:
The twist is to add a tag. You can't use any of the sketch pieces, but it can be any size and shape that suits you. It must have a hole with ribbon/fiber and be on the front of the card. Removable or stationary, your choice.  Five pieces plus a tag.

My adorable rose is from FRED SHE SAID's digi collection.  Various papers from my stash and a few valentine's/love items from my Valentine's box of goodies and wallah!  Now in this photo there is NO clothespin, so look below, as that is the way the clothespin goes.  It just didn't scan well, so I took a photo without it and one with it.
Someone is going to get a beautiful valentine with a book mark!!!  Inside the card is a lovely sentiment I stamped using a rubber stamp from my friend Shirley! Don't you love it!
So come on over to YOUR SCRAPBOOK PLACE BLOGSPOT and get in an entry today or tomorrow!

 RRR SFC2514
Hi there, June 23 and we have a new challenge at Squigglefly Blogspot.  The theme of RRR-SFC-2514 to simply make a one layer card and the end date of this challenge will be Sunday June 29.
This definitely is a one layer A2 sized card - colored with copics and a Jolee's embellishment pulled apart and put in some opportune areas, to wish some wonderful friend a Happy Birthday.  I used the most wonderful cardstock with matching envelopes from THE PAPER CUT!

When I'm not making cards or doing housework, or pulling weeds in the flower gardens or 10 raised vegetable beds, I love to cook and bake (oh yeah and bike!).  And since it's almost the end of the rhubarb season for our area, I had to whip up a rhubarb cake and a rhubarb/strawberry pie!  Yummmmm!

(yes I do make my own pie crust and it is FLAKEY!)

Have you had an enjoyable entrance into summer?  It finally came - our temps have been cool AND very rainy.  But now we look forward to just enjoying summer.

Come on over to Squigglefly's Blogspot and enter this challenge, anyone can do a one layer card!!!  And before you head on over there, check out Squigglefly's shop freebies and new stamps they just got in!

Let's Go Fishing for a Birthday Card!

is sponsored by our wonderful friends at Digital Delights
The theme is "Masculine".
My card started very strangely.  I've been cleaning out my Scrap Rack and came across some great die cuts from a while back.  Donald is a precolored digi (available both ways from Digital Delights) and that gave me a great savings on time.  So you put the theme of fishing together with the wild outdoors, and it makes a good story!  I'm wishing my sil a great Happy Birthday in Oct. with this card!!!

So stop on over to Digital Delights and enjoy a fun shopping spree in the digi department!!!  And don't forget you have a couple chances to win free digis at Outlawz!!  CLICK HERE FOR THE RULES OF ENTERING AT OUTLAWZ.

I chose a sunflower image I had already colored up with copics - quite often I'll print out several and color them all in one nite.  However my  image was slightly larger than my 6x6 card and honestly I didn't think about going to a 5x7 - duh!  But anyhow I thought I'll put it on point and the card will still open from the side.  I recently obtained a lovely grass punch from Impression Obsessions and wanted to double the grass around the fence - wallah I love it!

3 buttons on top, a small tag "A SUNNY DAY" which indeed it is, and double matting and distressing all brought it together.

For this challenge, don't forget that THE ROBIN'S NEST is sponsoring this challenge.  You just could very easily win a lovely gift certificate to spend on their awesome images!  Come on over to SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY and get inspired by the design team's entries!

Greetings friends!
Our wonderful sponsor for this week, the 9th of June is the AWESOME: Delicious Doodles
With a great theme: MONOCHROMATIC
This challenge is being hosted by Alex at OUTLAWZ GREETINGS CHALLENGE!  Come on over and check us out!

Isn't this the most touching image you've ever seen.  One wonders what is going thru the lady's mind - she is so sad or madly in love.  She's very ghostly at the river's edge too - did something very romantic and very sad happen here?

I chose the colors of blue/green (turquoise) to complete the whole card.  All of the colors in the actual image are of the COPIC BG family.  Stamped sentiments are with the Ocean color of the CTMH ink pads!  Card is 5.75x5.75.  The decorative piece behind the image was created with my cuttlebug embossed folders and turquoise paint!  I turned one section the opposite way to catch one's eye.

I hope to see you today or this week at the OUTLAWZ GREETINGS CHALLENGE - just click the link!

and if you like to make an extra Christmas card, now is the time to do it!
I chose this great new digi from Squigglefly.......

Americana Style - Sandra Caldwell
and combined it with the wonderful waving flag digi image from
Proud of myself as I even used up some stash and washi tape!

Prize: 3 digital images
I'm using 2 images for 2 different cards - I love this sketch so much!!  Check out the twists I used.

So come on over to SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY and join in the fun with another sketch!
And don't forget our wonderful sponsor SCRIBBLES  --  check out the fun images there!

Sponsor: Squigglefly
Theme: Wait a Minute Mr. Postman
(Create a post card with an embossed sentiment)

I chose the REINDEER POSTAGE STAMP from our sponsor, SQUIGGLEFLY.  I love all the images at Squigglefly, what a treasure for them to host the OUTLAWZ this week.  This image was produced by my friend Pammie Lehto, a great artist with Squigglefly - check out her 116 images presently available.  And grab her freebie on the Squigglefly front page.

I used copics for coloring the images on this actual postcard measured to go thru the postal system.   I have left room on the right hand side of the front of the postcard to attach my Christmas address labels.  I chose wet embossing on the postcard using a versafine pad and colored pads and then using my heat gun.  My favorite way of embossing, as I do not have to have a bunch of embossing powder on hand, clear is actually all I ever need.  I use 2 different pads - one is kept clean from the inks I use on the other one.

Come on over to OUTLAWZ GREETINGS CHALLENGE and join us by making a postcard of your own choice.  Don't forget you can just use a 4x6 card doubled and glued together so that it will go thru the mail system ok.  If you copic color you will need to do that prior to putting the backs and fronts together of your postcard.  And be sure to bring your adhesive right out to the edge of the interior as you affix the 2 sides.

Best of luck, hope you win something!
