Hobbyists Meet Sir Shapes-Alot

Holley's Hobbyists of Squigglefly have given us another fun challenge. Create a card with at least 3 shapes. I got busy with my Halloween cards as soon as I saw the challenge. How fun!

I have several shapes included - oval/rectangle/triange/round brad head.

If you want to join in the Sir Shapes Alot challenge, just click here : SQUIGGLEFLY SIR SHAPES A LOT CHALLENGE. Meanwhile here's my creation - I actually made 8 different ones! :) Why just make one???
Marla Shega - Image Artist for Squigglefly

BOO TO YOU TOO!  Marla Shega has created the cutest KITTY BOO in a pumpkin; and even tho it's been a whole year since she presented KITTY BOO - the image still rocks and is my first go to for my FIRST Halloween card this year!  But keep your eyes open because Judith Hart has also won me over with her newest Halloween image - but shhhhhhhh I can't show it to you until Sept. 1!!

Kitty Boo is a 6x6 folded with lots of  layers and embellishments.  All I needed to do was pull out my tote of Halloween embies from last year and have at it.  I also have an order for 5 Halloween cards to make (alas they are done too!) and then complete an ABC swap at Scrapbook Place.  One needs to only make a Halloween themed card, an ATC and a small bag of embellishments for each of our partners.

I love the season as it changes into fall - it's coming fast now!  Enjoy your fall, you all!

Halloween cards continue......

At 613 AVENUE CREATE there is a wonderful blog of challenges - a regular community of weekly challenges.  This week is STITCHING REAL OR FAUX.  So since I made up 8 different cards in my next Halloween 'gig', I thought I'd enter this one in Chana's challenge.

This image is from Squigglefly's store called HALLOWEEN KITTY BOO and the image artist is Marla Shega!  I chose the bats from another free site and made them transparent to hover over my printed image.  Otherwise principally latering after coloring KITTY BOO and her pumpkin and a piece of paper ribbon and a skull and bones, and I'm finished.  Stitching was done prior to  any layering and I do wish now I would've used black thread on my machine.

Come back and see me on Monday with yet another version of HALLOWEEN KITTY BOO.

These are at FRED SHE SAID STORE right now - they are so gorgeous!  I decided to print some for note cards and then I decided to try my hand at a facial tissue box I saw on you tube!  I'll show the note card set later.  Meanwhile, here's all the colored flowers you can download and print or you can download the b/w image and color them your own way.  Doodled flowers are all the rage right now!

Needless to say, it came together very quickly and one could expand the measurements for any type of gift - perhaps small candles, candies, lots of fun.  I took the sentiment from FRED SHE SAID's store also.

Sorry it's a bit crooked in the photo - there is also a lovely violet prima flower on top sitting aside the oval opening for the tissues.

Come on over to FRED SHE SAID Store and pick yourself out a bouquet of flowers to work with.  Every woman needs flowers, and these will never wilt!!!

Use twine/ribbon/floss, etc.
Lynne Stansbery

How cool is this image created by Lynne Stansbery!!!  The image comes with several sentiments as well.  It's an awesome image to grab over at Squigglefly's store.  (click)

My second card using this image but the opposite profile.  Which one do you like the best?

When I saw the bowling ball, I just had to lean towards fall and the beginning of all the fall bowling leagues around here!  Do you bowl - I used to and gave it up - I'm "slightly dyslexic and me and bowling balls and pins didn't quite do very well!

But how true it seems like fall around SW Wisconsin.  We awoke to 47 deg. yesterday morning and the weather man promises it will get better.  But it's sweatshirt weather and I love cuddling in mine!
We have a new fur baby with us - she's 13 yo. this month and really spry.  A calico tortoise shell in all her glory and very impressive.

Other than that I celebrated #67 this past week with family and you know what - I don't feel one day older!

We are debuting a new artist this month...Judith Hart!  Check out her images - they are FUN!

Have yourself a great Squigglefly day - come over to our blogspot and join in this easy peasy challenge!

- PRIZE;  3 digi images (your choice)

Image Artist - Pamela Lehto

Isn't this a beautiful image from Squigglefly?  And how much fun to work with a sketch...of course using my copics!  :)  I swear there is a love affair going on there betwixt me and my colors!!!

But this rose reminded me of one day many years ago when my eldest daughter was entering items in our local county fair.  She had raised this gorgeous peace rose and entered that!  I honestly don't recall what ribbon she won, but she is so talented, undoubtedly it was a blue ribbon!  To this day she still enters art work, cards, scrapbook items, knitting, crocheting and continues to encourage her granddaughter to do the same.
Grab yourself an image (any company but Squigglefly has awesome ones) and join us in this challenge, working with the sketch shown here and also at SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY.  You can maneuver the sketch to fit your needs so just try it and come join us.

MOOOOOOVE on over to Squigglefly NOW!

At Squigglefly Blogspot this week, the Rascals have a great challenge up.  MAKE IT MASCULINE!  Well I always need birthday cards and the masculine cards are really fewer in no. in my card box, so this was a perfect opportunity to get ready for birthdays - got a couple coming up right away.

So I chose Pammie Lehto's Old Barn as well as merging one of the "girls" from the Daisy & Daphne collection by Fawn Palmer.  There are several sentiments with the latter image but I chose to use "Hay" to get my recipient's attention and turn to the inside.

Below you will see the front and the back of a 5.5x5.5 in. card.  I hope it gives you a bit of inspiration to do a masculine card.
I hope you don't miss the clouds I chalked in the background.  This image was fun to color.  And if you are wondering why no "RED" barn, well in the Midwest here those farmers are usually retired.  then you would not see cattle grazing either.  It's sad to see the small farms disappearing around us.
So Moooooooove (get it?) on over to Squigglefly's store (click) and pick out an image.  Pay attention to Pam Lehto's - they are really cute!  Have a great day and follow me if you don't already.  I have a place for you to also add your email.  Many hugs from a former farmer!!!

Prize: 4 Digi's
The Sketch for you to use for this delish challenge is:
Now you can turn the sketch, add a few items, just keep the initial integrity so that we know you are following our sketch, ok?  Can't wait to see what you create!
Here's mine and don't you just love SEAHORSES!!!
I honestly had no 'water themed backgrd. paper' so went to my friend Tracey at the FRED SHE SAID store and asked if there were something in the back files.  Alas, nothing - but Tracey went way out and beyond and sent me a sketch of bubbles.  I printed the bubbles on a turquoise paper and painted them in with my copics for greater depth and reality.  In real life they are just perfect - for once I was proud of myself.  It took a while to achieve the POP OFF THE PAPER effect I wanted, but it's there!  Wish I could share it with you your mailbox!

So come on over to SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY and join us in this 14 day challenge!  Everyone can join in, just use the sketch.  And check out Tracey's store for some great images!
And have an awesome 'sea horse' day!

It's a Saturday evening here; quiet except for the noise of a runaway train movie.  I find something comforting in exciting movies altho my life is not at all that exciting!  :)

I chose to finish off 6 cards I had started using the FRED SHE SAID recent posted MAGNOLIA. And the best part is I chose CAS (clean and simple).  Well that is what CAS means to me.  I still have embellished a bit on each card, but using a quick assembly line method, these took very little time.  And that's one of the super excellent reasons to purchase the FRED SHE SAID colored image sets. as well as the drawn image set.  Most sets are both ways, which is this Magnolia set.  I printed the full sheet out so I could cut various flowers and do layering and curling.  Here's an example of how I stacked the flowers using ZVA pop dots.

and here's what the full sheet looks like once printed off your own printer.
So basically I printed several larger individual images as well as the sheet.  Following are the beginnings of my card fronts.  I did a lot of manipulating the petals and leaves to get depth; then I used Liquid Pearls for the centers, as well as stickles to do some effective glittering on the petals.  These are only the on!
And wallah, here are the 6 finished cards - all are A2 sized - various sentiments.  SCROLL SLOOOOWWWWWWLY and enjoy!  I need yet to only add a personal written touch to the inside sentiments and send away.  Have you made a card today?

WISH UPON A STAR - Image Artist Judith Hart
She's now an artist at Squigglefly as well!

Come join us at Squigglefly on Saturday, August 3rd, as we release many more new images along with the introduction of another so talented artist - Judith Hart.  Some of you may be acquainted with her blog and Facebook pages.  The above image, WISH UPON A STAR, was a freebie for downloading on her Facebook page recently.

The sentiment is from my wonderful Christmas stash, the extra stars (other than the very bright one in the upper left corner) are all from my stash as well.

I hope you come on over to Squigglefly this weekend, grab a new image and there will still be time for you to join in the wonderful PIECE OR PIERCE challenge at the Squigglefly blog!
