VALENTINE'S DAY is fast approaching; but if you are like me, you love to spread happiness all year long with your cards.

Over at Squigglefly's Challenge Blog, we've been challenged to create something for the heart!!!

Lynne Stansbery - image artist
 SFC0413 - challenge ID
Are you a cake or a cupcake lover?  Me? I love cupcakes, just as our little sweetie here does.  I recently made cupcakes using a confetti cake mix and a 20 oz bottle of 7 up.  That's all!  They are very low fat and oooooooh so good!!!   Put a strawberry on top of a strawberry flavored cupcake mix and some lovely pink frosting, and wallah, it doesn't get any better than this, and if you had a lousy day, as she says:  CUPCAKES MAKE IT WORTHWHILE!

Please use a Squigglefly image to qualify and don't forget there are plenty of freebies to help you get launched on your digi collection!  Click here for FREEBIES!

Have an awesome day!

Inch by Inch, that first kiss is coming closer, isn't it?!!!

Do you remember creating inchies on your scrapbook projects?  Actually they make an awesome addition to any project.  Here is a 6x6 card created with the new image at Squigglefly, called FIRST KISS, and using inchie images from a vintage tablet I have been using up.

January 21 SFC0313 Challenge is - USE INCHIES on your project

This image is by Lynne Stansbery and I colored everything with my copics of course.
Did a little layering on the inchies and some embellishing with jewels and ribbon,
and I hope you like what you see.

Come on over to Squigglefly and enter a card or other type project using inchies.  Free
digis are up for the winner!

Did You Ever Want To Start Over?

BUGABOO stamps and SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY combined the talents of the SALS Design Team to inspire you to participate in this wonderful challenge!

Here is the sketch SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY is asking you/me/everyone to use.  Isn't it so inviting - very little thinking, just create.  I love simplicity!!!

BUGABOO Stamps provided our digi image and I chose SCENE IT LADYBUGS.  Altho I wanted to use a different type of sentiment, since those Ladybugs had to climb all the way up that flower to grasp even a bit of fragrance!  And if they fell off, what would they do?  Just start all over!

I'm not giving up; Just starting over!

So come on over to Seems a Little Sketchy and make a card or project using the sketch provided; you can use any image you wish.  You have the opportunity then to win free digi images from Bugaboo!  How cool is that!

SCRAPBOOK PLACE HAS A NEW CHALLENGE UP!  Come check it out.  Just click on the link.

We're into the middle of January and haven't you been thinking about Valentine's Day too?  I know I have - and I'm rushing to get more in so I can surprise the grandkids and great grandkids!  Anyhow, let's cut to the chase!  Here's the sketch provided by our lovely blogmaster Pammie.
January 31 is the due date; please use red/purple/pink and white on your card.  Just follow the template and leave your blog url and your name and email (which is kept confidential).

Here is my rendition - isn't Magnolia the sweetest.  I have not colored any Magnolias in so long, this was total fun!  I used copics everywhere for the coloring, some stickles on the balloons, flowers from my stash (from Barb S) and I even crocheted a chain of gold and angora yarn to do the width wise stripe!

So tell me your link, and let me visit you.  And if you are looking for a new home to create cards and scrapbook layouts and meet new friends, check out Scrapbook Place.  I love it there!

Over at Squigglefly's blog, Holley has challenged us to create a "blue" card - either with a winter theme or a blue colored card or double up and make a blue card in winter them. Your choice.

This little cutie 6x6 is created using the image Hanging Out to Dry by Cheryl Alger. Isn't he the cutest little teddy bear? I remember my girls' teddy bears - one was yellow and the other was red - wonder if they still have them? Everything was done with copics and I kept the blue card color going to get into the challenge.

Come on over to Squigglefly's Challenge Blogspot and get into the drawing for free stamps!  There are so many new ones right now, your eyes will be going foggy trying to decide which one you want next.  And don't forget the freebies as well!

Making more Christmas Cards...

Aren't they?  This family is my 2nd entry over at Outlawz Freebie Challenge and also the COPIC Challenge at Outlawz - click the link and join me over there. For more info on my family, just check my post below.

Mainly this is simply using copics and glitter and lots of smiles!  Enjoyed putting this together in front of the television - as usual.  Seems to be the easiest place to get anything done.  It is a 6x6 folded card with lots of layers.  I did the liquid emboss on the caps of our snow people, and lots of pretty icicle stickles everywhere.

As it says, Holiday Cheer, and we'll be saving this one til Christmas 2013!  Also entering into the Southern Girls Challenge. and The Ribbon Reel  (click the link and join us)

Are you like me - just love to dabble in hearts and flowers and of course chocolate candy and cookies right around the beginning of February?  It's so much fun to make cards and give them away or send them onward to surprise a friend.  We have special birthdays in February too which makes it even more fun to send cards with hearts on!  My youngest daughter and my sister were both born on the same date - Feb. 10 twenty years apart - and my husband's youngest daughter was born on Feb. 13th!   And another daughter was married on Feb. 14 in Hawaii.  And the list goes on............I'm sure you kwim!

There is a wonderful challenge at Outlawz called CFC FREEBIE CHALLENGE.  Click the link and see what it's all about.  This weekend there will be new freebies out - all you have to do is enter and then be given new freebies when the time comes around again.  This time I received this darling princess, a wonderful gooey looking cupcake and the cutest snowman family.  I managed to get all 3 colored last evening in front of the tv and am putting them into the contest today.

Above is what is my version of an easel card.  I started with a 6x12 base and added a 6x6 card to the folded front.  Put a few raised goodies on the base and the card stands open.  I included a lovely ATC card I was given around this time 2 years ago - and it fits so beautifully on the base of that card.

I needed something to replace my Santa card that my friend Pat M. sent me for Christmas.  I've had it sitting on the tv all this time.  I will indeed save that for another year - in a box all its own.

BTW I was chosen to be spotlighted for this month in Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, Designs with Destinction.  It's fun to follow Lisa - she has freebies too - but I love her style of friendship and blogging.  Drop on over and check her out and tell her Linda sent you!

A HUG FOR EWE (Hugs are my favorite thing in this world!)

Got some very sad news tonite - my girl friend (since 1965!) called to tell me her husband had passed on after a long illness.  She and I have been like sisters most of the time we've known each other; however, her last move took her further away than ever and we seldom get to personally visit other than over the phone.  So I'm sending her a hug tomorrow!

I chose Diane Carubia's A WOOLY RIDE - A cute 6x6 cut back 1/4" on each side to allow more room in the eenvelopes these days.  The sentiment is computer generated - I did a whole page of varying ones so I could just cut and paste in a hurry.

Have you had any trouble sending 6x6s lately?  My local post office has totally wrecked many of my cards by trying to run them thru a mechanical system when I attach enuf postage to accommodate a larger size and hand posting.  But...

Anyhow hope your part of the world is at peace tonite.  This image is available right now at Squigglefly's shop.  Click the link - you know the drill!

I am also entering this card in the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge.

Wow, we had a busy day today.  We both are retired but fail to really understand the meaning of retirement.  But it's all in a good day's work.  So come evening, I just had to get my colored images into cards - well try at least.  I did get a birthday card done.  We have 2 people in our family that have birthdays just days within Valentine's Day and it is always so much fun to make cards for them.

Well I already had the image colored - Cheryl Alger constantly contributes to our Squigglefly index of images and I soooooooo love her images.  In fact at Squigglefly, there is this grand image called BUNNY CHIT CHAT and it is one of my favorites for Easter greetings...the fun greetings.  But she also has a darling image called KITTY KAT CHIT CHAT that I chose for this birthday card.  And in my usual 'lucky' style, I had enuf Valentine type stash sitting in the corner of my table and just went with that, but yet following this sketch from OUTLAWZ WEDNESDAY SKETCH.

(USING a lot of really good stash!  But the fun was really in the coloring of the images!)

This card is also entered into Cheryl's challenges this week - CLICK HERE! I'd love to see you enter something as well!

BTW, here's what my husband works on at nite when I'm in my craftroom.  This is a 1,000 piece puzzle and it took quite awhile. But he is relentless.  He just started another one so I got a photo of this one before he put it away.  in fact, there was one bare piece in the puzzle and I took my copics and colored it up for him.  One would never know where it is now.  :)

Have a great week!

WELCOME BACK FROM ALL THE CELEBRATING!  Squigglefly introduced great awesome new images this weekend, and you are going to love them!

The first challenge of 2013 with Squigglefly is all about saying thank you with a card.  I do hope you had a lovely Christmas - altho the holiday is not in how many pressies you got but whether the slowdown of the end of the year allowed you time to reflect on a better 2013 perhaps.

But please don't forget a polite thank you card.   The graciousness of old should still be used by us and taught to our children as well.

Let's Make Thank Yous for the lovely Christmas presents we just received.

This darling little sweetie is in the Stampset called SWEETS FOR THE SWEET!  And it appears she's obsessed about that cupcake.  And my how delish it looks.  The image artist is Lynne Stansbery - I just adore all her work!!!  The THANKS SO MUCH! is also found in one of the Squigglefly stampsets, DAISY and DAPHNE!

What Am I Doing Today?

SASSY CHERYL'S CHALLENGE for this week was just too much fun not too enter.  Jump on over there and see the wonderful fun entries in this "ANYTHING GOES"!

So here is where I am at the first week of 2013.  In December I managed to get all of my Design Team publications scheduled thru the end of the year.  When the new images came for January, I did the same for January and am now thoroughly caught up with all teams.  So right now - FOR THE REST OF THE MONTH - I can actually "play"!  Or in this case, work and redecorate and play in between break times!

Here is my present project sitting on my desk - I actually have 4 of them printed out all different and this cute floppy eared sweetie is indeed one of my favorites!

It is wonderful finding that time to renew my craftroom space.  If you recall, I posted a photo of the original "messy but I know where everything is" area on December 5, just click here to see that photo........prepare for a mess!

Now this has been an ongoing project since Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, but here's where I am at.  My husband built me a keyboard drawer under one of my tables to hold adhesives, prismacolor pencils, paints, etc.  Those items you usually want out of the way til needed and then they better be handy!

I just love it - I got busy underneath all the tables and discarded and rearranged.........and now I've started 2 images of Cheryl's for later posting.  SURPRISE to be let out soon!
And meanwhile in the evenings when my eyes are tired, I pull out my new afghan I'm working on.  It's based on a granny square stitch and I'm loving using up all my bits and pieces from the MILE A MINUTE afghans I had previously made.

And that is what is going on in my craftroom right now!

Don't you love sending valentines?  I enjoyed Valentine's Day all thru childhood - the creation of that all important Valentine's box in school, the Valentines I sent to my husband, my sisters and brothers and cousins and friends thru my adult life.

Come on over to Your Scrapbook Place and try your hand at creating a valentine and putting it in our mailbox.  The challenge starts Jan. 1 and ends Jan. 14 - will you win something?

My Valentine is a 6x6 and that image is truly a rubber stamp!  It's one of my favorite stamps, I love the huge heart stamps with all the finery!  I'm making 5 at the same time, to help out my cards for February!

Happy New Year's Day!

January 1, 2013 Challenge Theme: I love you Valentine.
