GUESS WHO IS COMING TO SQUIGGLEFLY?

SMELL THAT YUMMY CINNAMON CANDLE?  I love cinnamon - and vanilla - and nutmeg!  Well you get the idea, I love to bake and I love candles.  This beautiful candle image will be in the Squigglefly shop this Saturday, so I'm giving you a brief taste/smell of the fragrance and beauty of this lady's images!

I've colored this 6x6 with copics, added some ribbon and flowers and brads from my stash as well the Joy decal in the upper right.  My gf Charlene gave me the gold ribbing on top - I just love that stuff!  There's never enuf bling in this world, is there?

This lady is simply wonderful.  Her blogsite is THE TRAVELER/PUTNIK and her name is ELIZABETA KUSHNER.

The world of crafting opens up avenues for everyone - and every time I meet a new artist I just feel like a new little bird just anxious to learn from them.  Elizabeta Kushner is part of a wonderful nonprofit Christian group in Croatia promoting art thru her works and others, and as in her words:

"The organization is founded to promote art, traditional values and culture (first of all in our city, our country and in surrounding countries that share a similar language). Its founders are Bible believing Christians, and everything we do, we do to glorify the name of our Savior Jesus."

All profit of Elizabeta's is given to the Traveler Organization.  How wonderful!  You can support her by going to her blogsite.

Drop by Squigglefly this weekend - check out other images of Elizabeta's.

Christmas Bird and Decked Out Feathers!

SFC4712-RRR-Glitter and Bling

Lets use glitter and/or bling this week!!

This Christmas Bird was drawn by Diana Garrison - isn't she just super!  She is an artist with Squigglefly - just click on the link and it will take you there.  This image comes complete with 2 Christmas Sentiments as well.

My card is a 6x6 done in lots of glitter and bling and pearls!  Even the ric rac on the sides is all aglitter!

I colored the Christmas bird in copics and did lots of shading so that the breast would stand out and shine.  The tail feathers have a bit of bling on every ornament and I've mounted the original image on some beautiful stash I've been hoarding!  Time to unhoard!!!

Come on over to Squigglefly and grab a free image and join our challenge.  You could win the Christmas Bird or any others of Diana Garrisons and be on your way to zendoodling!  :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Thanksgiving Day Prayer
by Walter Rauschenbusch (1861–1918)
(He was born the year the Civil War began and passed away the last year of World War I.  And YET this theologian, Baptist minister, kept his spirits high and wrote such a beautiful bit of prose for us.)

For the wide sky and the blessed sun,
For the salt sea and the running water,
For the everlasting hills
And the never-resting winds,
For trees and the common grass underfoot.
We thank you for our senses
By which we hear the songs of birds,
And see the splendor of the summer fields,
And taste of the autumn fruits,
And rejoice in the feel of the snow,
And smell the breath of the spring.
Grant us a heart wide open to all this beauty;
And save our souls from being so blind
That we pass unseeing
When even the common thornbush
Is aflame with your glory,
O God our creator,
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.

I'm So Thankful For Elves!!!

Mischievous Polly - the Christmas Elf
Image Artist - Cheryl Alger
Available here NOW!
CARD SOLD - will make more similar if you request.

Still working on your Christmas cards - I know I'm working as hard as I can and will probably have a few left over for next Christmas!  Above is a 6x6 I created for the latest Squigglefly Blog challenge by Holley's Hobbyists. Lots of stash on here - the buttons on the small flowers in the lower right corner are actually tops of glitter brads that I cut the legs off and glued on.  The red cs has been run thru the cuttlebug for touchy feely fun!  Do you do that to your cards?  I do!

Holley says:  I'll give you one of THREE choices:  1) make a thank you card;  OR 2) Make a Thanksgiving themed card; OR 3) make a card ABOUT something that you are so very thankful for!  (and think about adding a sentiment to match) For example, a card with a dog and a cute saying that says "God loves me, so he sent me this dog to be my guardian angel!"

Our Little Elf, Miss Polly, is very very thankful for all of her Christmas gifts - well I'm not sure they are hers.  Being an elf one never knows!

Come on over to Squigglefly's blog challenge and enter a card you have made using one of our images - there are freebies here.

Happy Holidays!

Color a Beautiful Sunset in the Mountains

DELICIOUS DOODLES is our sponsor over at SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY!

This sketch was very easy to work with and I always need masculine cards for every occasion, so my sketch and image came together like caramel and apples in the fall!

and here is my resultant card: check out the embossing on the strips
in the background.  I created the sky the way I've seen it
when we camp along the lake.

The woody part of the scene comes complete with shading in the darker areas so it was fairly easy to put together my copic color combos to get that special sunset (or sunrise) for my special man.  He is one who will love this surprise card when he opens his shop some early morning - just to say Hi and I Love you!!

Come join us at Seems a Little Sketchy - stretch your comfort zone and try out this sketch!  You can easily be a winner!

HAVE YOU CAUGHT SNOW LATELY?

This morning as my husband and I did our daily trek around the woods, it began snowing pellets on us.  This is the first snow of this winter for us - it was beautiful and the woods immediately went silent!  Snowmen are usually what I think of when I think of an oldie but goodie image to color up!

The challenge at Squigglefly is use any oldie but goodies - or just an oldie.  Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals have some great oldies but goodies, so go over and take a look.  Here are 3 renditions of CATCHING SNOW - the image is by Cheryl Alger.

CATCHING SNOW - CHERYL ALGER
RRR SFC4512
This sweetie is mounted on a new spellbinder diecut I have
and a beautiful shiny piece of fibers and again with
sparkly snowflakes.

There are a lot of die cut sparkly huge multi-mounted
snowflakes in the background which are difficult to see.

Check out those huge snowflakes (again) in the background!  Lots of winter
beauty in this backdrop - just simply a goodie and an oldie!

Take a chance and perhaps win yourself some digi images!  These were all super simple to create - I know you can do even better.

Happy Fall Ya-All!!

Stanley Scarecrow - Fawn Palmer
Stanley Scarecrow is a new release at Squigglefly!  His image artist is Fawn Palmer and she rarely creates an image set without a sentiment, therefore, you get the sentiment "HAPPY FALL Y'ALL" as well.  I adore working with her images!

My card is a 6x6 with a deep green textured background - almost a jewel green.  I distressed the edges with CTMH Chocolate.  The 2 panels behind Stanley are freebie fall panels I found on the internet, and thought they went quite well with all the copic colors I used.  I used 3 different fibers to tye around the card before mounting my image and think the whole thing came out quite well.

Now come on over to Squigglefly's shop (click there) and grab an image and join in the SQUIGGLEFLY BLOG CHALLENGE - RIBBONS AND BOWS!

SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY HAS SCRAPBOOK LAYOUTS!

Are you a scrapbooker as well as a card maker - I can remember when some people referred to us card makers AND scrapbookers as being on the dark side. I still don't know what they meant by that. But I love them both. Just lately I thought I had totally gotten caught up with all my photos, with the exception of the wedding photos from Oct. 6. Now no one can be expected to be done that close!!

Anyhow here is a wonderful sketch at Seems a Little Sketch for composing a Scrapbook Page.
The challenge is simple - use whatever page you desire and follow the sketch as well as you can according to your embellishments and photos and all.  You need not be perfect in other words.  Looks intriguing doesn't it.  And super simple!
I chose a 12x12 - nearly all of my albums are that size with a few exceptions.  I'm using principally Chatterbox older Christmas holiday paper from my stash.  I also used some lace to trim the inner circle using some hot glue and doing some ruffling with my fingers.  The upper corners and the filigree below the photos is from Rusty Pickle chipboard I also had on hand for the past year.  I like it with the gold stickles all over it.

The ladies in the photo are 'my four girls'.  On the left is my great granddaughter (now 10 yo); her mother (my granddaughter) in the red; and her mother (my eldest daughter)with the big smile.  My youngest daughter is in the right hand photo near the Christmas tree.  I admit it - they are my sweeties!

So run on over to Seems a Little Sketchy and get in on this challenge.  Leave me a note about your scrapbooking and click here if you want to join a great scrapbook group!  SCRAPBOOK PLACE

A PAIR OF BEAUTIFUL WINTER MITTENS

Wow, what an easy fun challenge and with all the Christmas and winter cards I am making, this challenge rolled right into my mits like a firm snowball!!!

HHH SFC4412 Add either a Ribbon or a bow to your card (or both!).  Can also be a brad or embellishment shaped like a bow OR simply a stamp that has a ribbon or bow included in it.

ESPECIALLY FOR YOU is inside the card and is an image for only $.99 at Squigglefly by Jess Holland.   Just click on the link above!

The fun warm mittens and WARM WINTER WISHES come from an 8 piece stampset by Lynne Stansbery at Squigglefly, just click on that link!  In fact there are enuf images in that set for 4 different cards!  And it even encompasses Valentine's Day!

Coloring was done with copics, glitter with Stickles and lots of fun stash helped me bring the card together - in fact 2 cards!  The mittens are popdotted for more fun.

This lovely card entered into the SOUTHERN GIRLS challenge, check them out!

Are you working on your holiday cards?  Are you one who includes a letter from the year's events too?  Leave me a comment.  And have a beautiful day!

It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas!

November 1 Challenge Theme: Its beginning to Look Like Christmas
HO! HO! HO!

This wonderful fella definitely tells us it's beginning to look like Christmas when you receive that first Christmas card - or in my case receive that first Christmas list!  LOL!

KRIS KRINGLE is an awesome digi from Squigglefly.Com and was drawn by Image Artist:  Marla Shega.
To see this image or more by Marla just click on the links!  If you love chocolates, beagles, Holiday Bells, or whatever, you are going to love her work!

This is a 6x6 folded card and the one unique item I want to mention is a very frosty background directly behind Kris K.  This is achieved by mixing equal amounts of hot water and epsom salts and then taking a foam brush and painting your cardstock with the mixture and allowing it to dry.  The effect is awesome - simple looks like Jack Frost hit over nite.  Please leave them dry on alum. foil over nite.  I put mine (for this project) thru my Cuttlebug and the frost seemed to crack and become a tad whiter and sparklier but never did it fall off.   Very cool effect given to me by our friend Virginia on Scrapbook Place blog.

Meanwhile, don't forget to come over to SCRAPBOOK PLACE CHALLENGE BLOGSPOT and join in the fun.  For 2 weeks you have a chance to enter anything pertaining to our theme.
