SQUIGGLEFLY CHALLENGE- Be Square

THINKING OF YOU
SFC RRR4312
What a fun challenge for anyone.  You need to join us in this one, if you haven't already!  And what an awesome way to increase your digi collection - by winning them!

This was the 2nd image in the TINY FAIRY stampset at Squigglefly, by image artist Fawn Palmer and I have to tell you she does beautiful work!  When I first printed the reverse of this image I decided to print the opposite as well and colored both at the same time, which is what we have here.  I've placed her in the fallen leaf from another stampset of Squigglefly called HALLOWEEN CAT - and you may have seen a post by me on this earlier.

I brought out my artificial leaf collection and added it to my bg dp, took a beautiful ribbon and used some distress inks on it (spiced marmalade and olive) and added 3 buttons - square of course.  The square in the bg is a thinking of you stamp which I have.

How many squares did you count??  Anything less than 5, try again!  Come follow my blog and leave me a comment you are following..........enjoy Fall!

CAT IN A HAT - Are you "you"? (SALS #25)

OH YOU ARE YOU'ER THAN YOU!

I chose a lovely Dr. Seuss figure for my interpretation of this sketch - but non-Halloween this time!  You see, there is this darling little girl in Pennsylvania who has my heart!  A friend of mine told me that 10 yo.  Amber has brain cancer, and of course we don't discuss the up close and personal issues of brain cancer.........our desire in the card world right now is to flood this little girl's room with blingy Thinking of You cards.  She loves bling!  We all love to use bling!  How easy can it get?!

Well I had to use this sketch from Seems a Little Sketchy, and we were privileged to use the images given to us by BUGABOO STAMPS so........

I CHOSE CAT IN A HAT - from Dr. Seuss!  Who doesn't remember this lively little fella!  And here's my 6x6 card all covered with lots of bling and sparkle!  Inside I'll put a darling mini Cat in a Hat with a bit of the book for her.

I know she'll like it.  So come on over to Bugaboo Stamps and grab a fun digi and join us back at Seems a Little Sketchy for the sketch challenge.  You have 2 weeks to get it done, but don't wait til the last minute.  And please think about sending little Amber a handmade card as well.  You'll find her address below.

And don't forget that ...
Today You are You,
That is truer than true.
There is no one alive
Who is Youer than You.
- Dr. Seuss

SQUIGGLEFLY FALL CHALLENGE - HHH SFC4212

Cheryl Alger, Image Artist and more
images by Cheryl!

Holley's Challenge:
Either choose any or all of your favorite fall theme colors:  oranges, browns, yellows, rusty reds or olive greens OR pick a Fall theme--falling leaves, Thanksgiving, Pumpkins, Halloween....

I love fall - as most people in the Midwest do.  I love each and every day, whether it be a holiday or just a fun day.  I am making birthday cards, and yes I have 3 friends as well as 2 relatives who have birthdays in October.  One of my best friends has her birthday right on Halloween!  HOW SPOOKY COULD THAT BE!

This A2 is created with multiple layering of extra stash I have on hand.  The Good Witch is colored with copics and the tag is computer generated.  The image comes fully reversible as well! What do you think - will you be out there in an outfit/costume having fun!

HAPPY FALL!

SFC4112-RRR-Music - SQUIGGLEFLY CHALLENGE

Did you know that the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer song started life in 1939 as a poem written by Robert May, an advertising copywriter, and it wasn't until 1949 that it became a song?  I found this info on the net!

 I chose clip art from

A 6x6 card; I made my own background using the words of the song.  The clip art makes card making so easy, it's unbelievable!  I had a few die cuts in my Christmas stash, just begging to be put on a card.  I hope you like it!

Come on over to Squigglefly blog and enter a card using one of their digis - anything to do with music!   You could win the right to claim one of Inger's complete clip art.

Meanwhile, let's revisit Rudolph's song - everyone, together, and a 1 and a 2....

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Song Lyrics

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Rudolph
join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reindeer loved him
as they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
you'll go down in history!

AN EARLY SNOW! (SALS #24 10/15/12)

Seems a Little Sketchy is being sponsored by Squigglefly.com and their blogsite Squigglefly.blogspot.com.   I really loved using this sketch, altho my image and die got a bit larger than I expected.  It was still easy to handle.

Here is the SQUIGGLEFLY IMAGE completed a bit relevant to the sketch above.
Inside of card
post signatureThis is a 6x6 card with a few layers on the front.  I enjoyed using some small flower raks which were given to my by my friend Pammie L.  I used a beige interior sheet so that a sentiment may be added or a lovely letter written into it and sent on to a special friend!  The image is colored with copics and a bit of silver on her necklace.
Does the beginning of fall and winter affect you like it does me?  I can feel the snowflakes!

SBP Prepares for Thanksgiving

OCT 15 thru OCT 31

Have you visited this wonderful blogsite yet?  Pammie L. is the head blog mistress and is always thinking up new ways for the average crafter to extend their talents.  The sketch below is given for the 2nd half of October and the theme to use is Thanksgiving.  Take a look at the following sketch:

You are allowed to invert it or change it up a bit; just make it friendly to whatever project you want to use it for!

I chose clip art for focal point and some IKandee globes that represent fall and family love.  My card is an A2 and is easily processed thru the postal system as well by laying a small piece of chipboard in front of the card as I slip it into the envelope.  Some people will even turn the card inside out so the back sheet actually covers the image front.

I do hope you come over to SCRAPBOOK PLACE Blog Challenges.  You may win a free digi stamp!

Trick or Treat time with Virginia and Linda!

Are you looking for a project to use up those small scraps from your Halloween creations!  Well then TRICK OR TREAT....check it out!!!  Send special raks to your scrapping/card making friends with a great little project designed to use up your leftovers!  The revised instructions are really simply laid out for us at YOUR SCRAPBOOK PLACE.

Join in the fun and win a prize - contest ends October 15.  Virginia promises it to be a great surprise!  Enter more than once also!

So here is what I did; I had some vintage and retro clip art in my files and I had also a wonderful new image from Denise Clemmensen - the image is called SCARED CAT ON A PUMPKIN; you need to take a look at her work by clicking on her link - it is sooooooo fun!  Behind the Scared Cat is a huge tree - some retro art I had around that was already printed.

So I created a trick/treat bag but inside put a NIP Doodle Bug black buttons - perfect for that All Hallow's Eve project, don't you think?  You'll probably notice that the lid of the bag is secured by the cat's tail!  (It just worked out that way because I misprinted my image a little too large.)

And of course we need a greeting card - using the same image as the treat bag - it came together super easy.  I used some gold corners given to me by Charlene, colored everything with copics, dusted around the die with some chalk, added some buttons and media from bg paper from another project!

Again, not expensive nor labor intensive!  (I did color up four images at the same time however!.  :))

WOW! Specialty paper - pull it out for SFC4012

GOT YOUR SUNGLASSES ON???  THIS 6X6 EASEL CARD HAS SHINE!

October 8th Holley's Hobbyists are throwing a wonderful challenge at us.  So get out that specialty paper you've been hoarding (like I did) and grab an image at Squigglefly's shop and join in the challenge.  You have a full week to enter and you could win some awesome stamps!

Here's Holley's instructions: Specialty Paper--add a specialty paper to your card, maybe something glossy, transparent, vellum, pretty printed paper, some fun mulberry paper, great corrugated paper, shiny metallic paper, or how about some neat glittery paper.  If you are like me, you have so much paper around you, it will be hard to choose!!  Add as little or as much as you like, as your card base or as embellishments on your card.

Well my special paper has been hiding in my paper organizer for awhile waiting for that special day.  It's very strange paper - very rubbery on one side and yet this sparkly showy gold/black/brown on the opposite side.  I love it anyhow and it worked great for this card.

This sweet little FAIRY is the production of Fawn Palmer and she debuted in our shop on October 6th.  With all the beautiful color around right now in the Midwest I could not help myself and had to place her in a fallen leaf.  Now guess what!  I got the fallen leaf from another stampset of Squigglefly called HALLOWEEN CAT - but I must confess I had to seek the guidance of my photo program GURU Charlene to get the leaf cut away from the image!  I then enlarged, painted with my copics, and cut it out and pop dotted it on this easel card.  The fairy has 'stickled' wings over a very pale green copic color.  Then she was slipped inside the leaf just a bit to appear to be sitting within the confines of that leaf.  Cool huh?  Thank you Charlene!
