Oh I agree wholeheartedly......I have to have my morning coffee with breakfast and I do love coffee! Just ask my hubbie who has learned to drink it as well!
1 CARD - using 2 artists' images

I created this card in a card making frenzy I was just heavy into and I'm still a little hesitant about the orange ribbon, but whatever.  I have to expand my horizons sometime!  Within 2 days I've colored up enough images for 10 cards and have completed 2 besides!

You see my husband and I did some farming favors for a friend for 2 weeks, and as of Mon. eve (Christmas Eve) hopefully that was our last chore time.  Then Christmas Day and company still kept me away from my lovable coloring. All of this kept me away from my crafting.

But then Wednesday I was lit with a fire!  I had to get using the copics again - and just feeling paper, and well you know how it goes!

Be sure to tune into Squigglefly's shop on Jan.5 for more new images and artists!  My coffee quote comes from the SWEETS FOR THE SWEET stamp-set.  In fact there are several quotes in that set and the most darling little gal with a cupcake - OOPS - did I spill the beans!??

Lynne's images are easy to use - in fact there are so many talented Squigglefly artists now, it's often difficult for me to choose!

And please don't forget that Squigglefly's challenges resume on January 7 and the winner of that challenge (only 1 week long) will receive their choice of stamp sets in Squigglefly's inventory!  What a deal!!!

Meanwhile - Happy New Year!

Here's our sketch challenge for the following 2 weeks.
Our sponsor is Whimsy Stamps and we were allowed
to use any of our images to work with this sketch.  Sketches
are so much fun to work with - it literally takes the guess work
out of the card and project creating!

Now doesn't that sound like something you'd like to do
and win some images for your collection?

And here's my entry as a DT member for SALS.
Isn't this caroller just a sweetie?  I found her in the collection by Ingrid Harding at Squigglefly.  Check her out here:
AND go on over to Wbimsy Stamps and grab a cutie for this challenge!  We'd love to see your
work! Have a great week and come join us at Seems a Little Sketchy!

I hope you have a lovely peaceful holiday - See you in 2013!!

Come and visit Doodle Pantry for some awesome and very reasonable stamp sets!

Winter solstice is the longest night and the shortest day of the year. This is a time to rest and relax before we set out into action . This is a time for us to be calm and wait for a vision, cleanse ourselves and boost out inner spirit for the dark and cold days ahead. It is also a time to take new resolutions in life.

The Winter Solstice is the time when the Sun halts over the Tropic of Capricorn (23°S26') for some three days at the end of its tropical journey south, before recommencing its tropical journey north. This, the longest night of the year occurs on December 21st for the year 2012.

Meanwhile sweet Winter Wishes to you...from a snowbound Wisconsinite!

Lady Gnome and her Berry Best Berries!

6x6 card using stash and copics for coloring
and the salutation from my Stampin' Up retired set

All proceeds from Elizabeta's work go to this charity:

As I write this post, I think of how fast my life picked up this past week.  A friend succumbed to a pretty sick appendix, and he being 87 yo and living alone, had quite a time getting to his house from his farm operation to call 911.  I carry a cell phone - but only for 911 use.  My husband uses his cell phone for everything - just loves being introduced to this small new piece of our life in the universe.  But if this gentleman would've had a cell, he might be out of the hospital and back home by now.  But he's not - and my husband and I are back farming - something that was 40 years ago for me and longer than that for him.  And our bodies are slowly feeling the pain as we are 72 and 66.  One wonders how an 87 yo gent can outdo us!!!

Now our friend has told us we are the "berry best" friends he has; it just seemed to us that this is something you do for friends, fill in whenever they need you.  Not that one expects remuneration, but we both are Christians and we do believe what we do on this earth will prepare our eternal house in Heaven.

This past Friday the Newtown CT tragedy occurred.  What happened in this young man's mind to have no remorse for killing literally babies.  Worse yet, why was his mother holding so many guns in her house.  We'll never hear from either one again.

When anything goes!!!

And here at Squigglefly's blog you will find a great challenge that may just lift your spirits while you hustle and bustle around in December!  Wow, do you believe it?  Christmas is one week away!

Holley's Hobbyists at Squigglefly's Design Team have presented this theme.  "Theme is Anything Goes but include a sentiment-- can be any topic but add a saying, think about a sentiment that comes with any of the stamps we have, or add your own;   Squigglefly sells a lot of great .99 sayings and often they come with the images.  Sayings can be as simple as Thank You or Merry Christmas or long and funny.  You decide!!"

Squigglefly Shop

Isn't he just the sweetest little boy!  He can be saying - Oh no, did I miss your birthday; or he can be saying - Wow, what wonderful gifts - A BIG THANK YOU - or name it!  You create a card for this challenge and include a simple sentiment on the outside of the card.

BTW, did you notice Ted's 2 bottom teeth - so precious!  I love little children, and my 3 great grandsons do fill this bill!

Merry Christmas from all of us at Squigglefly - as we take a break now until New Year's.  So see you in 2013.  But keep watching, as I have posted many NEW (JUST AWESOME) stamps from Squigglefly to automatically flood your inbox with creative juices for the rest of this year!

SBP Challenge - Snow Fantasy

December 15 Sketch Theme: Snow Fantasy using Template 3

Our group Scrapbook Challenge Blog is having a new challenge for 2 weeks.  Just make a card or project using the theme Snow Fantasy and being guided by the template shown here.

Now I stretched my imagination a bit and tried to find something that would be snow fantasy in an oval shape.  One that would work with the dies I have at least.  So I quit looking at oval and came up with rectangular because I had this darling clip art of a lovely snow family taking a walk in the evening!  And I flipped the sketch.

Check out that darling snow baby on the sleigh!  How cool is that!  Well since this is the last challenge for 2012, how about pulling out your stamps and clip art and find something to compete in our challenge with.

A special HUGE THANK YOU to our blogmaster, Pammie L. for all the hard work she has put into our new blog - and we are all looking avidly forward to 2013 and more challenges!  YOU ROCK LADY PAMMIE!

And meanwhile, enjoy a beautiful holiday - remember the reason for the season!

RED AND GREEN - is there a song about that?  Must be because I sure love all shades of those colors! So how much more fun to enter a challenge at Squigglefly with those colors!  This challenge is #SFC4912 RRR!

What can be more traditional than the various hues of red and green at this time of the year!  Rhonda has presented a challenge to RHONDA'S ROWDY RASCALS which says:  "let's use the traditional Christmas colors-red and green for this week's challenge."  This means YOU - get your red and green on, get those creative Christmas juices flowing, and follow along!

There is something special to me about a lamp post in the winter time.  Here in our area of Wisconsin in the small towns all the lampposts are decorated with greens and reds - some towns even have a lamp post that very much looks like the above - only it's electric.

Wouldn't you love to receive Ted's Christmas Surprise of flowers?  Look at his eyes!  They are so sweet and loving, one cannot help enjoying coloring him!  BTW I did alter his eyes a bit to get that special expression.  :)

Come join us at Squigglefly Challenge and grab yourself a freebie and perhaps start your collection of digital images.  If you need help using them, we have wonderful tutorials on the Squigglefly website.  Just click on links above.

Meantime, Christmas is only 2 weeks away!!!

Hi there - I'm taking a break today from Christmas cards - it's almost time to get them in the mail in fact!  I love to design cards for SEEMS A LITTLE SKETCHY  and we are promoting digi stamps from Kenny K Downloads.

Below is a super easy sketch to work with - I'm saving this to use with many more cards!

Well I always have help on my craft table - much to my dislike she will return soon as I 'shoo' her off!  So I am super careful of cat hairs anywhere and have one of those rollers with me 24/7 - yes even on my night table!  Her name is Tinker Belle and altho she is over 9 yo, she still thinks she is a kitten and must be with me everywhere.

Here is my finished card from KENNY K DOWNLOADS - isn't she the cutest nurse you ever saw.  I chose the nurse image because my youngest daughter is a nurse of over 13 years now and my sister is many more years than that.  Makes it easy to send them fun cards!

The bandaid background clip art was made for me by my friend Pammie L. of our Scrapbook Place Group.  (Cute of me to get a pitch in there for new members, huh?!!!)

Isn't she the coolest to be able to do that - I know I can't learn so am not even trying!  I hope you like the embellishments on the left - note the medical staff button and square white nursing dress buttons!

Have a great day - as I'm thinking of you always!

It's December, why not?

This morning we awoke to a lovely blanket of snow that eventually yielded a full 4 inches.  Quite the opposite of the weatherman's warnings - we originally were supposed to have been in the less than 1" area.  Well ok...hubbie still decided we were going to do our morning walk, snow falling on top of us.  And we did our 2.5 miles - and I'm worn out!

So I decided why not spend some of today (Sunday) working with a snowman image for Outlawz and Squigglefly.  In my stash I spied 2 colored vintage scenes I had yet to use.  So I did a little manipulating in size of the SNOWY CARD (image drawn by Marla Shega) which can be found at Squigglefly.  Click that link and it will take you directly to the cutest frosty you've ever seen!
Now be prepared to scroll down a bit to see ALL of my cards I created today so far!
I actually had 5 images printed on the sheet of various sizes of SNOWY CARD, and I did make 4 cards and have 1 image left to use.  But in efforts to get this up and posted on Outlawz, here we go.  And btw, the challenge is located by clicking HERE:

Card No. 1 A 6x6 using the full vintage winter scene from GRAPHICS IMAGE
Do you see little Frosty in the lower right corner.  Some fussy cutting and 3d mounting.

Card No. 2 A 6x6 using the exterior of the winter scene graphics and Frosty now has been moved into the empty center space.  A few great embellies and I'm happy with the card.
Card No. 3 An A2 card embossed with image sized for emphasis.  Silver accents for a Christmas happy card!
Card No. 4 An A2 card using the full Frosty with silver sparkly snowflake dangling.
Come on over to the Squigglefly challenge and join in our red/green challenge - you can enter as often as you like but please use one Squigglefly's images.  Have a frosty week!

WOW It's Wed. and I Need to Hop To It!

Yes, it's Wed. and my desk is a total mess - I couldn't actually stand far enuf away to catch it all so am just giving you a glimpse.  A couple days ago I got this crazy idea of cleaning up, kwim?  That's the toughest challenge on earth for me, because when I tend to clean and organize I find more projects to start before I'm even thru organizing!

So bear with me, here's the desk table (and no kidding, it's a real picture):

So here's the project I've been working on (PHOTO AT BOTTOM OF POST).  I had an order for 10 completed cards with the Perfect Potters Bench by image artist Lynne Stansbery.  It appears that order has fallen thru, no money down anyhow, so I decided to turn those cards into Christmas cards.  Now here's what the potter's bench image looks like, just click:  PERFECT POTTERS BENCH
and this was my card in March 2012.  But the cards I am working with for this project now are just plain no embellies but they are all colored...and waiting...
(earlier card showing Potters Bench)

So on with my story.  Now my friend Pammie hand punches the most darling wreaths ever - so I anticipated using those wreaths on my Potters Bench cards and going from there.  But alas, I didn't measure item to item, and they were beautiful, but too large right now, so have chosen then to find my own wreaths, color and fussy cut and attach.
(card showing wreath on lamp post)

So now I found the wreath I like - was using it on other cards - and that image is: HOLIDAY LAMP POST.  Check out that wreath on my card above (it's actually coming up in a future post as well).

But as far as the wreath goes, a little digi cutting, printing, coloring and cutting of the wreath times 8 - and wallah I now have my PERFECT POTTERS BENCH CHRISTMAS CARD.  I also managed to use up my tiny red ribbon and tiny green ribbon - all in an effort to use up more and more stash daily here.  Oh and I also used the last Noel Rub On I had in my stash - woo hoo!

What do you think?  Here's my card(s) - hope you like and maybe I've inspired you to do something different and create a card out of something that was just sitting there, kwim?  I've decided to join one more blog - and that is Julia's blog WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY!

I am also entering into the Squigglefly Winter Wonderland Blog Challenge - come on over, it's only 1 week long.

And btw, while you are here on my blog, please sign in as a Follower,  At 100 followers, I am giving away a Stampset to some lucky person!

Are you the wonderful family that spends a whole afternoon searching in the countryside tree lots for that special Christmas tree?  When my children were very small (over 35 years ago now), we would love to go find THE TREE for the house.  I enjoyed the smells as well as the glee in the children's voices and they raced from tree to tree.  Their dad brought along a saw and cut it down and we hauled it home!

Our challenge this week at SQUIGGLEFLY BLOG is WINTER WONDERLAND.  "Anything Winter whether the image is winter themed or not add some paper or other embellishments to make your card a winter theme.  Or if your image is winter theme, then the more winter the better :)"

So here's my little family  heading home for hot chocolate with marshmallows after setting the tree up to 'relax' before decorating!  I heard on the radio that a tree will drink 1 gallon of water a day - I know they are very thirsty!

Don't forget our artistic digi art that is already colored for you at Squigglefly!  You'll love all the possibilities!  Just click here:  INGER IS OUR ARTIST!

This weekend Squigglefly will be releasing their December images.  And wallah - we have a new (to us) artist making her debut - Elizabeta Kushner!  I know you will love her artwork as much as I do.  I really can't wait for you to see all of the images so stay tuned at  Squigglefly!

Let's see your card or art project for Winter - it doesn't have to be Christmas related - just winter where you are!  Show us ON THE SQUIGGLEFLY BLOG!!

Over at Clear It Out Tuesday, enter a Christmas or a red/green/white card for lovely surprises, just click here: CLEAR IT OUT CHALLENGE

From Our Gnome To Yours!

It's December today - oh my goodness where did this year go? Our weather here in SW WI is really weird. The weatherman says we will hit a record high for our date tomorrow! The frost is out of the ground and we are bicycling!

Lady Gnome - Image Artist Elizabeta Kusher

Well at Squigglefly we are introducing a new artist, Elizabeta Kusher, and it's my pleasure to color one of her gnomes and create a cute 6x6 card with it.  There are lots of sentiments that can go with this sweetie - and I'm going to use a few more.  Those 10 sentiments are available at Squigglefly and another 3 All occasion sentiments under Elizabeta's link.   Just click and grab an image and get into our challenge at the blog - click here!

I just want to mention that all of Elizabeta's profits go to this charity.  Check it out at:

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ah that great month of Christmas Bells is upon us.  If you have escaped the mad rushes at the Mall and are entering this season with love and faith, I herald you.  I love December - and I am not a mall person nor a Black Friday or Black Monday person either.  I figure whatever I need I will get during the year when the price is right; instead of wanting to give my money to some conglomerate monster just because it's Thanksgiving!

So at Scrapbook Place, our challenge for December 1 is any project involving a Winter snowman or Winter People ........... well you get the idea!  Here's my project (card), using a Heartfelt Creation rubber stamp that I actually "WON" a few years ago at Joan's Gardens!

The little bear who cares is feeding cardinals, most likely.  I've  used my liquid pearls for the very first time to embellish the falling snow!  And I placed some ICICLE STICKLES to emphasize the developing snow banks.  My copics were used for the coloring.  A few more embellishments on the outside, and wallah, another card to fill my Christmas card box which now needs to be addressed and sent out!

Hope you are in the spirit of Christmas -  just relax and take it day by day and remember the true reason for the season.  And remember to enter your card project in our challenge this week.
